A&E is not for Dental Emergencies.

You’re all probably aware of the recent goings on with A&E departments across England. Some hospitals have declared ‘major incidents’, including Walsall Manor a local hospital within the area. This is due to the large influx of people going to A&E. A&E departments in England are failing to meet the target of seeing 95% of patients within four hours during the week ending 4 January.
So do we really want this continuing and affecting the NHS for years to come? We can all try and minimize the amount of patients attending these departments for minor treatments that could be done elsewhere. For example, taking a tooth out. When all of the Dentists are closed what is the first thing that comes into most peoples head ? …. attend A&E.

With the A&E departments suffering enough back log with patients and generally with no experience of teeth someone that needs dental help will clog up resources whilst getting poor or inadequate treatment. Antibiotics and pain killers alone are rarely the best solution to a toothache. But what else can the doctors do ?

Our practice offers a 24/7 Emergency Service which can come in handy in any dental situation. As a practice we want to be helping out local hospitals by easing off the pressure when they have to see patients in a certain amount of time and to treat them effectively. Many local hospitals already refer to us. We run this service 7 days a week, including all bank holidays. So why risk waiting in A&E when in severe pain, when you can be seen by a dental professional as soon as.

We like to be there for patients when they need us most, even if this requires us coming in at 2am in the morning. We have five core values here at The Dentist and they are as followed:
Caring and trustworthy
Affordable prices
Convenient timings
Honest staff
To provide the best experience

We understand and like to take into consideration that patients can get very nervous with the idea of coming to a dentist for treatment. That is why we do our best to keep patients calm and relaxed throughout, involving them in their treatment plan at every possible step so that they’re always kept in the know.

With appointments readily available for new patients and no waiting times – why not book in now and get seen as soon as?
