UK-wide mobile dentistry • Home fillings by suitability
Dental Fillings at Home – Mobile Cavity Treatment Across the UK
If you have a chipped tooth, lost filling, or a suspected cavity (tooth decay), we can assess you at home anywhere in the UK. Where it’s safe and appropriate, we may be able to place a filling at home — otherwise we’ll give you a clear plan to get it sorted quickly in clinic.
Important: some fillings need X-rays, moisture control, and equipment that is best done in clinic. We’ll tell you clearly what’s realistic.
Can a filling really be done at home?
Sometimes, yes — especially for straightforward repairs (like a lost filling) where the tooth is accessible and we can work cleanly and safely. But if the decay is deep, the tooth needs an X-ray first, or the area can’t be kept dry enough, a clinic visit is usually the safer option.
Often suitable at home
- Lost filling where the tooth is stable and accessible
- Small chipped area needing a simple repair
- Temporary relief to protect the tooth until clinic care
Usually better in clinic
- Deep decay close to the nerve
- Severe pain, swelling, or suspected infection
- Teeth that likely need X-rays, root canal, or crown work
- Multiple teeth needing complex treatment planning
What we can help with on a home visit
- Assessment of cavities (decay) and advice on the quickest safe solution
- Lost fillings — check the tooth, clean where appropriate, and advise on repair options
- Chipped or rough edges — smooth and protect where suitable
- Temporary protective filling to reduce sensitivity and protect the tooth
- Referral pathway if the best option is in-clinic care (we’ll explain the “why”)
If you’re arranging care for someone else (older relative, care home resident, limited mobility), we can guide you through the booking and what’s realistic on the day.
