Emergency Dentist at Home
Same-Day Home Visits
Toothache, swelling, broken teeth, denture pain, or you can’t leave home? We can arrange an urgent home visit anywhere in the UK (availability varies by area) and give you clear next steps.
Urgent safety note: if you have breathing/swallowing difficulty, rapidly spreading swelling, heavy bleeding, facial trauma, chest pain, or feel very unwell — call 999 or attend A&E.
You’ll know what’s happening next
We focus on pain relief, safe assessment, and a clear plan — including what can be done at home, and what needs a clinic/hospital setting.
What can an emergency home visit help with?
If you tell us what’s going on, we’ll guide you fast. Common reasons people request an urgent home visit:
- Severe toothache (throbbing pain, pain keeping you awake)
- Swelling / suspected dental abscess (gum boil, bad taste, facial swelling)
- Broken tooth with sharp edges or pain
- Loose crown/bridge causing discomfort
- Denture pain, ulcers, or dentures that no longer fit
- Post-extraction issues (ongoing pain, possible dry socket symptoms)
- Can’t leave home due to mobility issues, disability, or anxiety
Note: We can advise on pain control and infection management, and prescribe medication only when clinically appropriate after assessment. Some problems still require clinic-based treatment — we’ll tell you honestly.

Based in Great Barr — supporting patients across the UK
Our main practice is in Great Barr (Birmingham), and we organise home visits nationwide. If a same-day visit isn’t possible in your area, we’ll still help fast — with triage advice and the quickest realistic plan.
How it works (simple)
- Tell us what’s happening (pain, swelling, broken tooth, medical conditions, your location).
- We triage quickly and confirm whether a same-day visit is possible in your area.
- Home visit assessment — we examine, discuss options, and focus on safe relief and next steps.
- Plan — home care advice, prescriptions if appropriate, and referral/clinic plan if needed.
We’ll always tell you if the safest option is a clinic, a hospital setting, or imaging first.
Costs (what affects it)
Emergency home visits vary depending on:
- Travel distance and urgency
- Time on site
- What you need (assessment only vs treatment planning)
We’ll explain the expected costs clearly before anything is booked. If you’d like general guidance, see our pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Can you treat a dental abscess at home?
We can assess swelling, advise on pain control and infection risk, and decide the safest next step. Sometimes medication is appropriate after assessment, but many abscesses ultimately need dental treatment (like drainage, root canal, or extraction).
Can you extract a tooth during a home visit?
In some situations we can plan treatment at home, but many extractions require clinic-grade equipment and the right environment. If extraction is needed, we’ll guide you to the quickest safe route.
Do you cover the whole UK?
Yes — we arrange home visits across the UK. Same-day availability depends on your location and clinician availability, but we’ll still help you quickly with triage and next steps.
What if I can’t open my mouth or I’m in severe pain?
Call us — we’ll triage immediately and advise what to do next. If there are signs of a serious infection (rapid swelling, fever, swallowing/breathing issues), you may need urgent hospital assessment.
What should I do right now while I wait?
Avoid heat on the face, keep hydrated, and use appropriate over-the-counter pain relief if you can take it. Don’t place aspirin directly on gums. If swelling is increasing or you feel unwell, seek urgent care.
