- You choose a stop signal
Agoraphobia can make the dentist feel impossible — you’re not alone
Agoraphobia can mean fear of leaving home, travelling, crowds, enclosed places, or feeling “trapped” in a situation. Dental pain doesn’t wait — so we bring dentistry to you, calmly and respectfully.
What we can often do at home
- Home consultation + exam (often the best first step)
- Dentures – adjustments, repairs, aftercare
- Some extractions – where safe and appropriate
- Urgent problem assessment – pain/swelling/broken teeth guidance and next steps
- Prevention advice – simple routines to stop things worsening
What usually needs an in-practice visit
Some treatments need X-rays or equipment that can’t be safely done at home. If that happens, we’ll explain why and help you plan it in the most manageable way.
- X-rays / scans
- Root canal treatment
- Crowns / bridges and more complex restorative work
- Higher-risk surgical extractions
How a home visit works (in an anxiety-friendly way)
Step 1: A calm start
We can begin with a short consultation. You can have a family member with you. We’ll agree a simple stop signal so you stay in control.
Step 2: Clear options
We explain what we see, what it means, and the best next step. If treatment is needed, we’ll talk through options simply — no pressure.
Step 3: Gentle progress
Some patients choose to do treatment in small steps. Others just want a plan for later. Either is fine — we work with what you can manage.
A real local practice — with home visits when you need them
We’re based in Great Barr and commonly provide home visits across Birmingham and surrounding areas. If you ever need a clinic appointment for X-rays or more complex care, we’ll help you plan it in the most manageable way.

Frequently asked questions
Will you judge me for being scared?
No. We see anxiety and phobias more often than people think. We’ll take it slowly and keep everything simple.
Can I start with just a chat and no treatment?
Yes. A home consultation can be a gentle first step. You can decide what happens next after you feel comfortable.
What if I panic during the visit?
We agree a stop signal in advance. You can take breaks any time. We’ll only proceed if you feel okay to continue.
Can you do fillings at home?
Sometimes, depending on the tooth, access, and what equipment is needed. If it’s not suitable at home, we’ll explain why and give you a clear plan.
What if I have swelling, fever, or feel unwell?
If swelling is rapidly increasing, or there’s difficulty breathing or swallowing, or you feel seriously unwell, seek urgent medical help. If you’re worried, call us as well and we’ll advise the safest next step.
Ready to book a calm home consultation?
If leaving home is the barrier, we’ll meet you where you feel safest. Start small — we’ll take it from there.
