Tooth Extraction at Home – Mobile Dental Extractions (UK-wide enquiries)

If travelling to a dental practice is difficult, we can assess whether a tooth can be removed safely in your home. If it can, we’ll do it calmly and carefully. If it can’t, we’ll explain why and arrange the right next step.

  • Safety first — not every extraction is suitable at home
  • Gentle approach — we take breaks and move at your pace
  • Clear aftercare — so healing is as smooth as possible

We’re West Midlands based and cover Birmingham and nearby areas as standard. For further travel, contact us — we’ll confirm what’s realistic for your location and the type of extraction needed.

Dental team providing calm home visit care

Common reasons people request home extractions

  • Housebound or mobility-limited
  • Care home residents
  • Dental anxiety / panic / agoraphobia
  • Pain that makes travel feel impossible

Can a tooth be extracted safely at home?

Sometimes, yes. But many extractions need X-rays or equipment that can only be provided safely in a clinic. That’s why we start by assessing what’s needed and what’s safest.

Often suitable at home

  • Loose or very painful teeth where removal is straightforward
  • Teeth with obvious mobility (where appropriate)
  • Some broken teeth (case dependent)

Often needs the clinic

  • Wisdom teeth and more complex extractions
  • Teeth close to nerves / higher surgical risk
  • Cases where X-rays are needed to plan safely
  • Severe swelling or medical complexity requiring additional support

If it’s not suitable at home, we’ll explain why clearly and help you move forward without delays.

How a home tooth extraction works

Step 1: Assessment

We confirm what’s causing the pain, check the tooth and gums, and decide whether home removal is safe and appropriate.

Step 2: Numbing

We numb the area carefully and wait until you’re properly comfortable before starting.

Step 3: Removal + aftercare

We remove the tooth gently, manage bleeding, and give clear written aftercare guidance. We stay available if you have concerns.

Toothache, swelling or infection

If there’s swelling, fever, or you feel unwell, you may need urgent assessment. Extraction is sometimes the right option — sometimes it isn’t. We’ll guide you clearly once we’ve assessed you.

Emergency warning: If swelling is rapidly increasing, or there’s difficulty breathing or swallowing, seek urgent medical help immediately.

What our patients say

Frequently asked questions

Does a home extraction hurt?

We numb the area carefully. You should feel pressure rather than sharp pain. If you feel pain, we stop and address it.

Can you remove wisdom teeth at home?

Wisdom teeth are often more complex and usually need the clinic. We can assess and then advise the safest option.

What if I’m on blood thinners or have medical conditions?

Tell us when booking. We’ll take a full medical history and decide the safest setting and approach.

Do you cover the whole UK?
