3 D Scans

3 D SCANS

CT SCAN

A CT scan provides three-dimensional images of the teeth, jawbones and oral cavity and this scan offering more accurate information than X-rays.

A CT scan is helpful in the following situations:

  1. When the implant need to be placed.
  2. When the patients need immediate treatments
  3. Where several implants need to be attached
  4. When patients need advanced supporting treatments such as bone grafting ,sinus lift and nerve repositioning

OPG SCAN

An OPG is a panoramic or wide view x-ray of the lower face, which displays all the teeth of the upper and lower jaw on a single film.

The OPG SCAN allow images of multiple angles to be taken to make up the composite panoramic image, where the maxilla and mandible are in the viewed area.

An OPG also demonstrates the number, position and growth of all the teeth including those that have not yet surfaced or erupted through the gum.

The advantage of panoramic images /OPGs

  1. Low patient radiation dose

2. Broad coverage of facial bones and teeth

3. Convenience of examination for the patient

4. Ability to be used in patients who are restricted in opening their mouth

5. Short time required for producing the image
