Benefits of 3D Dental Scans
Greater detail
See roots, bone, nerves and anatomy clearly.
Accurate planning
Safer implant and surgical planning with fewer surprises.
Clear understanding
Visual scans make explanations simple and honest.
Reduced guesswork
Better decisions, fewer complications, smoother healing.
CT (CBCT) Scan
A CBCT scan produces a detailed 3D view of the teeth and jaw. It’s particularly useful for:
- Implant placement: bone levels, density and nerve location
- Complex cases: impacted teeth or hidden abnormalities
- Advanced planning: surgery, bone grafting and precision work
OPG Scan
An OPG (Orthopantomogram) provides a panoramic view of the upper and lower jaws on a single image:
- Orthodontic assessments: braces or aligner planning
- Wide-angle overview: shows all teeth, including unerupted teeth
- Jaw and sinus review: screening for issues such as fractures or sinus involvement
What to expect during your scan
- Quick and comfortable: usually just a few minutes
- Low radiation: modern equipment designed to minimise dose
- Immediate images: ready straight away for review
- Shareable results: can be provided for your dentist if needed
For scan-only appointments, please book via our imaging centre website.
Calm, honest care — led by the same dentist throughout
Frequently asked questions
Is a 3D scan safe?
Yes. We keep radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable while still getting the detail needed for proper planning.
What’s the difference between CT (CBCT) and OPG?
CBCT is 3D and used for precision planning (implants, surgery, complex anatomy). OPG is a single panoramic image showing the whole jaw and teeth.
How long does the scan take?
Usually a few minutes from start to finish.
Do I need a referral?
Not always. If your dentist has referred you, we can also share results back to them.
Can you send the scan to my dentist?
Yes — we can provide the images and reports in the appropriate format for your dentist to use in planning.
How do I book my scan online?
