What is cosmetic dentistry?
Aesthetic Dentistry also known as cosmetic dentistry is generally used to refer to dental work that improves the look of a person’s teeth!
Teeth straightening, teeth whitening, veneers, crowns, dental implants and composite (white) fillings are all procedures which improve your teeth and are cosmetic.
Teeth straightening
Braces vary depending on each person’s wants, needs and desires. Full metal braces consists of having small brackets cemented onto your teeth with a wire that attaches to all of them. Ceramic braces have brackets that are tooth coloured. You can also have Invisalign braces which consists of a variety of all most clear retainers.
Teeth Whitening
Under the advice of your dental practitioner whiter teeth from gels is achievable.
Veneers
A thin piece of porcelain that is tooth shaped and attached onto your own teeth which can improve the look of gaps in between your front teeth, helps to restore chips and cracks.
Crowns
A Tooth shaped ‘cap’ that is cemented onto your own tooth this can be done to strengthen a tooth or to improve the look of a tooth.
Dental Implants
A titanium screw which acts as an artificial tooth root is placed in the jaw bone and a tooth or teeth can be attached which can last for years, as long as they are looked after correctly.
Composite fillings
A composite filling is also called a white fillings which uses plastic and glass mixture so they are tooth coloured and less noticeable in the mouth.
