Flossing Your Teeth

What is Dental Floss?

Dental floss is a thin, soft thread made of nylon or plastic. There are different types available, so it’s important to find the one that is right for you.

Why Should You Floss?

Flossing removes plaque and small food particles that can get lodged between your teeth. It also helps prevent gum disease by reducing plaque buildup that may cause gum inflammation and irritation.

Flossing Techniques

Step 1: Break off a piece of floss about 18 inches long.

Step 2: Wrap most of the floss around the middle or index finger of one hand, and a small amount around the middle or index finger of your other hand.

Step 3: Gently guide the floss up and down against the side of your teeth and below the gum line. When you reach the gum line, curve the floss into a C shape until you feel resistance.

Step 4: Floss between every tooth, both front and back. Don’t miss any spaces.

The Dentist is a really good and professional practice. The dentist himself is very friendly, informative and made me feel at ease from the start of my treatment. The assistants were very good and made the experience overall 5 star.

I had braces here. Used to drive past and saw this practice. Readily available appointments and they are happy to adjust timing to suit our schedule. Came for a better smile, was recommended teeth straightening, went for it and I am so happy. Had ceramic braces and teeth were straight very quickly in 9 months. Very happy and highly recommend this team and dental practice. Will be coming back for check-ups and other treatments now.
